He is one of the pioneers in organizing nature and cultural tours in Argentina, where he owned one of the first tour operators specialized in this kind of tours. For the past 12 years he has been working as a tour director, leading numerous groups, specially throughout Argentina and Chile, for many prestigious organizations, such as: The Harvard Museum of Natural History, The Smithsonian Institution, The Commonwealth Club, The National Trust for Historic Preservation, several prominent alumni associations such as: Washington & Lee, Dartmouth, MIT, Harvard, Cal Alumni, UCLA, etc. Miguel is currently teaching Geography at the Waldorf High School in Buenos Aires, and he does volunteer work for the Argentine Grameen Foundation (microcredit for poor women). Miguel has been involved in environmental education programs for more than twenty years; he is one of the earliest members of the Argentine Wildlife Foundation; has given lectures and published articles on wildlife, cultures and traveling; has been invited to address the International Ecotourism Symposium and he is a consultant with the Argentine Foreign Office on matters regarding ecotourism policies. |
