General Description - Itinerary - Rates - Map - The Ship - Slide Show (9 Photos)

Venture off the tourist path to experience the North and South Islands’ breathtaking bays, abundant wildlife, spectacular national parks and nature reserves, and rich Maori culture. The Clipper Odyssey, carrying 106 passengers, can tie up in quaint towns and sparkling cities, and discovering secluded spots virtually untouched by tourism, where large ships could never venture. Join members of the American Museum of Natural History and World Wildlife Federation on this cruise. A distinguished group of experts will accompany you, enhancing your enjoyment of this fascinating region.

The cruise starts in Auckland, heads north to the lovely Bay of Islands, and sails along the east side of both the North and South Islands: Tauranga (for Rotorua), Wellington, Christchurch, Dunedin, and around to Fiordland National Park and Milford Sound on the west side before concluding in beautiful Queenstown. There’s an optional extension to Sydney, Australia, for three days, with guided tours of the historic Rocks district and the expansive Botanical Gardens, a cruise on Sydney Harbor, and a behind-the-scenes tour of the incomparable Opera House.
I just want to add that you were, without question, the best group leader we've ever had. From the first night, when you ever so nicely made clear that everyone needed to be on time, you ensured the tour ran smoothly.
DSC,

Tour leader Beth Geismar was top notch and saved several tough situations!
